- Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in Berlin
Berlin. For the first time in his ministry as the leader of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber will conduct a divine service in Berlin, during which he will grant Apostle Sieghard Behr, who has been active for many years, a well-deserved retirement.
Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber will come to the German capital to serve the brethren of the District Church of Berlin-Brandenburg on 5 February 2006. Apostle Sieghard Behr, having reached the age limit, will begin his retirement on this occasion. For nearly 15 years the latter has worked as an apostle. His successor is to be the current Bishop Klaus Katens (50).
On Sunday, 8 January 2006, District Apostle Wolfgang Nadolny had a corresponding announcement read out in all the congregations of the District Church of Berlin-Brandenburg. The announcement also relates that the Wednesday prior to the chief apostle's visit is to be a preparatory service for the big event in all the congregations of the District Church.
The New Apostolic Church numbers some 27,000 members in the German states of Berlin and Brandenburg.
