- New District Apostle Helper for the District Church of Canada
Chiangmai. Hans Joachim Sobottka (47) is the name of the new District Apostle Helper that has been commissioned for the vast working area of the District Church of Canada. Along with District Apostle Helpers Deppner, Dzur, Eckhardt, Hebeisen and Woll, he is to support his District Apostle Leslie Latorcai with the District Church's work around the world.
In this same divine service in Chiangmai, Chief Apostle Richard Fehr also ordained Apostle Gilbert Halder (32) and Bishop Simpson Baroi (57) for the District Church of Bangladesh, as well as Apostle Mukhtar Masih (53) and Bishops Roshan Ifrahim (29) and Iftikhar Masih (36) for the District Church of Pakistan. In these two countries of Bangladesh and Pakistan, the New Apostolic Church has approximately 200,000 members.
Currently there are also more than 12,000 New Apostolic Christians in Thailand. It was a special joy for them to have the chief apostle serve them. In Chiangmai, his message to them was: "You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me" (Psalm 139: 5).
At the end of the divine service, the chief apostle retired Apostle Bishram Pahan (69), who had been active in his ministry for 24 years.
