- New District Apostle Helpers commissioned
Zürich. On Sunday, 6th April 2003, Chief Apostle Richard Fehr held a festive Divine service in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda (East Africa). During this service he commissioned Apostles Michael Deppner and Frank Dzur as District Apostle Helpers.
District Apostle Helper Deppner will work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the areas under the care of the District Church of Canada wherein there are approximately 1 million members of the New Apostolic Church. District Apostle Helper Frank Dzur works zealously in Rwanda, Chad and the Central African Republic wherein there are approximately 200,000 congregational members. At the same time, the Chief Apostle ordained three new Bishops: Innocent Nzuzi for Rwanda, Ticko Merci and Dakoua Nadjikouma for Chad.
The Divine Service took place in the University of Kigali, at which there were 2,700 brethern present. In Rwanda itself there are currently 40,000 New Apostolic Christians. They are cared for by over 1,300 ministers in 300 congregations.
