Zurich. Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will assign a new District Apostle Helper for the District Apostle Area Northern and Eastern Germany. Designated is Apostle Helge Mutschler (46). The solemn act has been planned for the end of February.
The Chief Apostle will conduct a divine service in Gaggenau in southern Germany on Sunday, 28 February 2021 and has invited Apostle Mutschler. Because of Covid-19 restrictions, the divine service will be via satellite and online. Interesting to note is that the city of Gaggenau is only 75 kilometres away from the city of Tübingen, where Apostle Mutschler was born in 1974. And it was nearby in Freudenstadt, located between Tübingen and Gaggenau, that he received his first ministry of Sub-Deacon at the age of 20. Today Apostle Mutschler lives in Hannover with his wife and two children, where he worked as a lawyer for many years.
Grateful for the decision
In his new function as District Apostle Helper, Helge Mutschler will support District Apostle Rüdiger Krause in leading the New Apostolic Church Northern and Eastern Germany. This region is huge and extends far into Northern Europe. Additional congregations in Eastern Europe and the Far East—a total of 21 District Churches—currently being cared for by the District Church Berlin-Brandenburg will still be added. The Chief Apostle says: “As an assistant, Apostle Mutschler will, among other things, be responsible for preparing the merger of the two District Apostle Areas Berlin-Brandenburg and Northern and Eastern Germany together with District Apostle Nadolny.”
District Apostle Rüdiger Krause expressed both gratitude and relief, the Church in Northern and Eastern Germany reports : “I am very grateful for this decision by the Chief Apostle, and I look forward to working together with the new District Apostle Helper.”
Apostle district unaffected
It will be necessary to relieve Apostle Mutschler of certain matters and responsibilities. He will, however, continue to look after his German working area as an Apostle. This currently includes 56 congregations in the church districts Braunschweig, Göttingen, Hannover North-East, Hannover South-West, Hildesheim, and Wolfenbüttel
