- Part two of the Canada-Report: Divine Service for the Youth in Quebec
Quebec. On Sunday, August 28, 2005 it was Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber's first service in English since becoming Chief Apostle. He came for a youth service which took place in the Lasalle Albert Rosseau Hall in Quebec City, Canada, and was accompanied by District Apostle Leslie Latorcai, District Apostle Helpers Michael Deppner, Frank Dzur, John Sobottka and Mark Woll, and Apostle Ken Kreutner.
Chief Apostle Leber addressed the youth with the Bible text of Romans 15: 29: "But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ". He began by mentioning the passage in Genesis where God asked Adam, "Where are you?" He then applied this to the youth and asked them, "Where are you?" Where do you stand in faith, prayer, helping in the Lord's work and longing for Christ's return? Fulfilling these will lead to completion.
The Chief Apostle admonished the youth, "Give God the chance to bless you." He mentioned the following men in scriptures who received a full blessing from God: Abraham - because he was obedient; Moses - because he served faithfully to the end; David - because he was humble and trusted God; Daniel - because of his prayer life and connection to God. He told the youth it's the same for us: We need to be obedient and learn to follow God's servants today. We need to serve the Lord and use our gifts and talents in His work. We need to be humble - this opens heaven's door. We need to pray - this is our connection to God and His blessing.
After service everyone had dinner together at the Laval University, followed by a question and answer period with our Chief Apostle that everyone found very interesting and informative.
That afternoon our Chief Apostle, District Apostle Leslie Latorcai and Apostles joined the youth on a boat cruise.
