- District Apostle Horst Ehlebracht passed away
Herford. Horst Ehlebracht, the retired district apostle of North Rhine-Westphalia has passed away at the age of 67. When Chief Apostle Richard Fehr retired him in a festive divine service on 1 January of last year-after 43 years of ministerial activity in the New Apostolic Church-he dedicated the following Bible passage to him: "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up" (James 4: 10). Now this word also applies to his family and all the bereaved.
Horst Ehlebracht was a minister in the New Apostolic Church for 43 years, the last 11 of which he served as district apostle for the District Church of North Rhine-Westphalia. He had received this ministry through Chief Apostle Fehr on 13 October 1991 and from then on had been responsible for steering the course of the District Church. There are some 100,000 members in more than 530 congregations in the District Church of North Rhine-Westphalia, which also takes care of around 300,000 members in other District Churches, such as, for example, Angola, India, Northern Russia, and countries of the Far East.
His curriculum vitae were published on the occasion of his 65th birthday on the homepage of the District Church of North Rhine-Westphalia (see www.nak.de/nrw/berichte/20011009_01.html). A report on his retirement can be found at www.nak.org/news/20030102-d.html, and further details are available at www.nak.de/nrw/p_6_1.html.
