On the air: service broadcasts

Many places, one congregation: for decades already, worldwide video broadcasts of central divine services have been part of the standard programme of the New Apostolic Church.

Central specialists

By mandate of the New Apostolic Church International, the Church’s Bischoff Verlag (publishing house), headquartered in Neu-Isenburg in Germany maintains its own department for video broadcasts and audio recordings. This includes equipment that is up to broadcast industry standards, including a custom-made outside broadcast vehicle.

The special feature here is a customised infrastructure and a host of volunteers that allow divine services to be broadcast with up to 30 simultaneous interpretations at the same time. The highlight of the annual programme is usually Pentecost Sunday, when millions of Church members around the world participate live via satellite, internet, and radio broadcast

The New Apostolic Church has been familiar with regular audio broadcasts of divine services since 1949. International video broadcasts have been the norm since Pentecost 1990. It is for this reason that many church buildings are equipped with satellite receivers.

Regional activities

With the expansion of line capacities, various Local Churches are increasingly making use of the internet for their own broadcasts. In Africa in particular, time slots are also available in the context of national, public television programming.

The New Apostolic Church Southern Africa operates its own television channel. NAC TV broadcasts 24 hours a day, and can be received—with the appropriate decoder—in all the countries of the sub-Saharan region.
