Zurich. A new educational edition of the Catechism of the New Apostolic Church (CNAC)—which has been in existence since December 2012—will be published in on 1 September 2015. This reference work in question-and-answer format will be put to use primarily in training seminars and Church instruction.

Soon after the publication of the CNAC, the Church leadership expressed the desire to have the reference work available in an edition expressly tailored to instructional purposes. To this end, the content of the textbook was divided up into 750 questions and answers. The language is formulated in as simple a manner as possible without the use of too much technical terminology. Wherever it was impossible to avoid such technical terms, they were explained in detail. In addition, the new edition of the Catechism includes complete Bible quotations, instead of mere Bible references, to support and illustrate important elements of content.

Five main languages

Work on the content of the “Catechism in Questions and Answers” (CNAC QA) has, in the meantime, been completed. Translations into the Church’s five main languages are also available. Even the layout phase is at an end. The new book will go to print once the finishing touches have been made in the pre-print stage, and the work is scheduled to appear simultaneously in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish on 1 September 2015. This was the resolution passed by the International District Apostle Meeting at its latest session on 12 and 13 March 2016 in Zurich.

Divine service marks conclusion of the District Apostle Meeting

The District Apostle Meeting concluded with a divine service, for which Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider had invited all the District Apostles and District Apostle Helpers of the world to Schaffhausen-Neuhausen. The Church leader based his sermon on a Bible text from Colossians 3: 15: “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” He used this passage in order to stress to the congregation how important the peace of Christ really is, pointing out that this peace is to rule our hearts and define our decisions.

The Chief Apostle also said a few words in reference to the District Apostle Meeting that had just come to a conclusion: “There are always many decisions to be made, and we do this with our reason, our hearts, and our souls.” In order to make such decisions, one must be familiar with the Bible, promote dialogue among the Apostles, and feel the inspiration of God. This requires intimate prayer.
