- Divine services and a Pan-American Apostle Meeting
Zurich. “My trips to Canada and Venezuela went exactly as planned and without any problems whatsoever,” writes Chief Apostle Leber to the Apostles of the New Apostolic Church around the world. On 24 July, the Church leader dedicated a new church building in Calgary, Canada. The week thereafter, the Church leader spent some time on the South American continent.
Two divine services in Canada (Calgary and Winnipeg) and one divine service in Maracay, Venezuela on the last Sunday of July – these were the stops along the Chief Apostle’s overseas trip in July. On Friday and Saturday of last week, all the District Apostles and Apostles from both North and South America gathered for the first ever Pan-American Apostle conference in Caracas. On this occasion Chief Apostle Leber filled the agenda with topics of interest and importance for the American continents.
Divine service in Maracay
Last Sunday, more than 6,000 people gathered for the divine service in Maracay. The divine service was based on a Bible text from Isaiah 45: 22: “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” At the end of the service the Chief Apostle ordained a new Apostle and a new Bishop for the Iglesia Nueva Apostólica in Venezuela: José Rafaél Lara Tovar (46) received the Apostle ministry, and César Benito Barrera Baez (40) will from now on serve as a Bishop.
