- Pentecost 2011: All European Apostles gather in Dresden
Dresden. All European Apostles will be in Dresden this weekend in order to enjoy this year’s Pentecost service together with Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in the Congress Centre of the city on the Elbe. Those coming from Russia, Spain, and France will have a longer distance to cover. The Apostle Meeting on Saturday morning will be translated into French, Spanish, and Russian.
Apostle Meetings happen rather seldom and it is mostly the celebration of Pentecost that brings these lead ministers of the Church together from near and far. This time, the Saxon capital of Dresden will be their meeting place. The Apostles from all points on the compass will arrive in the city this Friday. The agenda for the conference scheduled for this Saturday morning will include various topics. For example, Apostle Volker Kühnle, chairman of the Work Group “Contacts with Other Denominations and Religions” will give an update on the status of the ecumenical relationships of the New Apostolic Church. A concert entitled “Erschallet, ihr Lieder” (“May hymns resound!”) is planned for Saturday afternoon. The central choir and orchestra of the District Churches of Saxony/Thuringia will perform alongside a number of soloists as well as a children’s choir and a youth choir.
Conference, concert, and divine service
The divine service scheduled for Sunday morning will be transmitted by satellite to many European congregations. Medium Web-TV will also be used to broadcast the service (we reported). As in past years, we will also report in detail on this year’s Pentecost celebrations. You can find reports from previous Pentecost celebrations on our international website under “History”.
