- USA Youth Day 2007 – Estes Park, Colorado
Estes Park, Colorado. On Friday, July 20, the international church president, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber arrived in Denver, Colorado. He was accompanied by District Apostles Theodoor deBruijn (Netherlands), Hagen Wend (Germany) and Richard Freund (USA). The group traveled by bus to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park to attend the annual NAC USA Youth Day.
More than 2300 youth from across the United States were invited to attend the three-day event which included a music camp, intensive life skills seminars, and various sports and nature activities.
His 60th birthday on Friday, the Chief Apostle Leber celebrated in the company of all those who had gathered. On Saturday, July 21, the youth choir (500) and orchestra (250) presented a moving concert for all of the participants after which the Chief Apostle Leber addressed several questions which were presented from the young people.
“Take care that no one deceives you!” With these words Chief Apostle Leber opened the divine service for the young New Apostolic Christians on Sunday morning, July 22. A text word was read from Psalm 119:18, “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.” The congregation was encouraged to pray that the Lord will open our eyes that we can see things in the right way.
The enthusiasm of the youth was overwhelming. Throughout the entire weekend, the Chief Apostle spent most of his time mingling with the youth. For nearly all of the youth it would be the very first time and perhaps the only time they would be able to meet their Chief Apostle. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity and all the participants left strengthened in faith and joy!
