- Announcement from the Chief Apostle: District Apostle Helper Karl Hoffmann will retire
Zurich. District Apostle Helper Karl Hoffmann (65) from the USA will retire this coming Sunday. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, international leader of the New Apostolic Church, will conduct the festive divine service for this occasion in Birmingham, England.
Karl Hoffmann has been a minister of the New Apostolic Church since 1969, and for the last ten years he has served as an Apostle. His working area also includes the United Kingdom and Ireland. Apostle Reinhard Hecht (also from the USA) will continue this work in the future.
The first New Apostolic service in Birmingham—the second-largest city of England—took place in 1951. Since 1962 the congregation has had its own church building. Today there are some 3,000 believers in 50 congregations throughout Great Britain and Ireland who profess the New Apostolic faith.
You can find more detailed information on the New Apostolic Church in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the official website.
