- Pentecost service from Cape Town 2006: 14 Satellites assured a perfect transmission
Cape Town. A total of 1.7 million souls in 8,000 congregations saw and heard the Pentecost service conducted by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in Cape Town. Thanks to modern satellite technology it was possible to transmit this big event for the New Apostolic Church to all five continents.
Cape Town on 04 April 2006: the international leader of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, conducted the divine service on Pentecost in the congregation of Tafelsig, which boasts 4,000 seats and is thus the largest New Apostolic church building in the world. The divine service was transmitted to more than 60 countries on all 5 continents using 14 satellites. The sermon was translated into English at the altar, and beyond that into more than 20 other languages. Because of the time difference, the transmission to North and South America was tape-delayed. More than 1.7 million souls in nearly 8,000 churches were able to share in this divine service.
