- The New Apostolic Church in Guyana is now in the care of the USA
Georgetown/Guyana. The pastoral and administrative work of the New Apostolic Church in Guyana (South America) is now in the care of the NAC USA. This transfer was officially completed during a festive divine service in Georgetown.
District Apostle Theodoor de Bruijn (Netherlands) had previously been responsible for the work of the New Apostolic Church in this South American country. On Sunday, 19 March 2006 he symbolically transferred the pastoral and administrative care of the country into the hands of District Apostle Helper John Fendt (USA). Thus the direction of the New Apostolic Church in Guyana has once again been entrusted to the United States after 15 years of care by the District Church of the Netherlands.
There are approximately 1,400 New Apostolic Christians living in Guyana.
