- Apostle Kayembe passed away
Kasaï Oriental, Democratic Republic of Congo. Apostle Grégoire Tshiebue Kayembe of the District Church of Congo passed away very suddenly at the age of nearly 56. He leaves behind his wife and eight children.
Apostle Kazengu conducted the funeral for the departed apostle on Monday, 31 October 2005 in the Mbuji-Mayi Central church, in the presence of all apostles and bishops of the province of Kasaï Oriental, as well as Apostles Bindu, Muela, and Mukenge. On Wednesday, 02.11.2005 District Apostle Helper Henri Higelin from France also conducted a special service of consolation.
Grégoire Tshiebue Kayembe was ordained into the apostle ministry by Chief Apostle Hans Urwyler in a festive divine service in Lubumbashi on 1 April 1984. He is among the pioneers of the New Apostolic faith in the region of Mbuji-Mayi.
In his letter of condolence, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber wrote that Apostle Kayembe had served in great blessing and with complete dedication as a minister of the New Apostolic Church for nearly 27 years. Together with seven other apostles and three bishops, he had lovingly helped care for 220,000 brethren in approximately 1,500 congregations throughout the province of Kasaï Oriental.
