Zurich. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber expressed happiness at the attendance of the Pentecost service of 2005. In a letter to the apostles, the chief apostle declares the worldwide satellite transmission of the Pentecost service from Fellbach a resounding success: 2.2 million participants witnessed the divine service live.
Some one million brethren and guests in Zambia and Malawi alone enjoyed the service from distant Germany. Approximately 700,000 brethren in the Congo and more than 170,000 in South Africa also witnessed the special event. Even in Europe, service attendance was above average. Chief Apostle Leber was happy to hear of these figures, stating: "That must be a record attendance." There were only very few problems with the transmission arrangements.
In several articles we have reported on the Pentecost service that took place on 15 May 2005 in Fellbach, near Stuttgart. It was in this divine service that Wilhelm Leber from Hamburg was ordained the new chief apostle of the New Apostolic Church. His predecessor, Chief Apostle Richard Fehr from Zurich, was festively retired in the same service.
