- District Apostle Erwin Wagner enters into Retirement
Kitchener. "In the eight years of his activity in the District Apostle ministry, District Apostle Wagner accomplished more than was possible elsewhere in triple the time"- Chief Apostle Fehr found these words of recognition on the occasion of the retirement of District Apostle Wagner!
On Sunday, April 14, 2002, Chief Apostle Fehr held a great, festive divine service in the Kitchener congregation, a part of the Canada District. He served with a word out of 1 Peter 1:13: "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." At the end of the divine service, which was transmitted via satellite to all the congregations with satellite reception in the USA and Canada, he placed District Apostle Wager, who had overseen the districts of Canada and USA as District Apostle during eight years, into formal retirement.
District Apostle Helper Horn was also retired from active service. Chief Apostle Fehr said of him: "District Apostle Helper Horn is probably one of the most travelled servants of God, for there were often times during which he was on the road for half of the year!" The Chief Apostle wished both Apostles a blessed retirement.
In the same divine service, Apostle Mark Woll was commissioned as District Apostle Helper. The Bishops Frank Dzur, Reinhard Jabs and Hans Joachim Sobottka as well as the District Elder Michael Deppner were ordained as Apostles. Furthermore, the Chief Apostle also ordained four Bishops: Peter William Esser, Gary Trautmann, Michael Wagner and John Fred Wiesel.
