Angola. The international leader of the Church, Jean-Luc Schneider, informed his fellow Apostles of the death of Apostle João Vasco Tekamona. He passed away on Saturday, 15 April 2023.
The Apostle was only 58 years old. He had suffered a stroke last year, but had recovered from it. His death was therefore unexpected and caused great grief. He will be greatly missed, especially by his wife, Jaquelina Mansoni, as well as the couple’s four sons and two daughters.
João Tekamona was born in Angola on 11 December 1964. In 1982, at the age of 18, he became acquainted with the New Apostolic Church and was baptised and sealed. On 15 July 1985 he was ordained as a Deacon. Further ministerial levels followed. On 9 June 2013 he received the Apostle ministry.
“District Apostle Helper Misselo describes Apostle Tekamona as a modest and composed man, who always kept his word. He worked with love, and travelled to areas that are difficult to access in order to strengthen the members there,” the Chief Apostle wrote in his circular and expressed his deep sympathy.
