- New Apostle for Angola
Bishop Ricardo Kiaku Simão was ordained an Apostle on 2 July. He will succeed Apostle João Vasco Tekamona in Uige, who passed away unexpectedly in April 2023.
Around 12,000 brothers and sisters attended the divine service in a stadium in Cabinda. “I would like to place your term of office as Apostle under this song,” Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider said with reference to a song that the children’s choir had sung earlier: “I love Jesus”.
Ricardo Kiaku Simão was born on 19 February 1987. In 1990 he received the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Sealing. After his schooling and various training courses he last worked as the commercial manager of a company.
He received his first ministerial mandates in the early 2000s, and most recently District Apostle Rainer Storck had assigned him as a Bishop on 30 November 2022.
