- New District Apostle Helper and Apostle for Switzerland
The District Apostle Area of Switzerland has a new District Apostle Helper and a new Apostle. Last Sunday, 17 September 2023, Chief Apostle Schneider performed two ministerial acts during a divine service in Berne-Ostermundigen, Switzerland.
Thomas Deubel (59) will succeed Jürg Zbinden (65) as District Apostle next year.
District Apostle Helper Thomas Deubel
Thomas Deubel has been a minister of the New Apostolic Church since 1984. Chief Apostle Schneider ordained him as an Apostle in December 2014 in a service in Zurich-Wiedikon, Switzerland. As an Apostle he looked after the members in Switzerland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
As a District Apostle Helper now, the countries of Gibraltar, Italy, Cuba, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Austria have been added to his scope of responsibilities.
Professionally, the new District Apostle Helper has already gained experience abroad. After studying languages in California, he worked in various positions at a Bernese bank. Later, he worked as secretary of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland.
Apostle Reto Keller
Chief Apostle Schneider ordained Bishop Reto Keller (58) as an Apostle to ensure the pastoral care of the brothers and sisters. He has held a ministry in the New Apostolic Church since 1985. Reto Keller was ordained a Bishop in 2018.
Reto Keller is a trained businessman and most recently held the position of administrative manager of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland, a task he will continue to exercise as an Apostle.
