- Ministerial acts on a leadership level
The Regional Church of the USA now has a new leader: this past Sunday, 24 September, John Schnabel took over responsibility for the District Apostle area, while the previous District Apostle Leonard R. Kolb retired from ministry.
The retired District Apostle Leonard R. Kolb
“We thank our friend and fellow Apostle with all our hearts for his many years of blessed work, for his loving and faithful service upon the souls entrusted to him, and for his service to the Lord.”—These words of gratitude were expressed by Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider in a circular letter to all Apostles. “We wish him and his wife a retirement that is richly blessed by the Lord.” Leonard Richard Kolb served the members of his working area as a minister of the New Apostolic Church for 50 years, 23 of them as an Apostle. He retired today at the age of 67.
District Apostle John Schnabel
His successor, John Schnabel, has had a year’s time to grow into his new role as District Apostle. On 7 August 2022, Chief Apostle Schneider assigned him a District Apostle Helper to Leonard Kolb. The 59-year-old had just been ordained an Apostle a year before. He received his first ministry in the New Apostolic Church at the age of 16—in New York at the time. In addition to the USA, he is now responsible for the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, the Caiman Islands, Columbia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Venezuela.
