- Two new Apostles for Western Germany
The Apostle District East of the New Apostolic Church Western Germany has been divided up. Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider retired Apostle Wolfgang Schug and ordained two successors in Bad Sassendorf on 29 October 2023: Gerd Kisselbach and René Follmann.
Apostle Gerd Kisselbach
Gerd Kisselbach, previously a Bishop, will take over the eastern part. He was born in 1970. He and his wife, Britta, have three children. He is the owner of an electronic organ building company and will perform his duties as an Apostle in an honorary capacity. In 1989 he received his first ministry for his home congregation of Baunatal. In 2015 he was ordained as a Bishop.
Apostle René Follmann
René Follmann will be responsible for the north-eastern part of the district. He was born in 1978. He is married and the couple have two children. He previously worked for an IT company, but will now work for the Church full-time. René Follmann received his first ministry in 2004. A year ago, he was assigned as a Bishop.
