- Eight new Apostles ordained in Lubumbashi
Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider had both hands full in the divine service he conducted in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo on 14 July 2024. Among other things, he ordained eight new Apostles in the presence of over 30,000 members.
Musuyi Felecien Ilunga, who most recently served as a District Evangelist, was ordained an Apostle for Lubumbashi North. Born in 1974, the clergyman works as a freight manager, is married, and has ten children. In addition to his native language, Kanyok, he also speaks French. He has been a minister in the New Apostolic Church since 1996.
Mwitwa Dominique Kapesha was ordained as an Apostle for Fungurume. He was born in 1973 and worked as a technical manager in a mining company. He and his wife have eight children. He speaks Swahili, French, and English. He has served in ministry since 1995 and has been a district rector since 2023.
Priest Kabunda Bernard Katende was ordained as Apostle for Tshimbulu. He was born in 1984 and became a Sub-deacon in 2011, after which further ministerial levels followed. He is married and has six children. The Apostle formerly worked as a principal at a high school. His mother tongue is Tshiluba, but he also speaks French.
Mako Joseph Mutamba, born in 1979, was ordained an Apostle for the Kabinda region. He received his first ministry as a Deacon in 2011 and has been serving as a Priest since 2013. He is married and has three children. He worked as a lecturer at the University of Kabinda. He speaks Songe and French.
Priest Mujing Remy Mutond was ordained an Apostle for the Kasaji area. He began serving in the diaconal ministry since 2011 and has served in the priestly ministry since 2016. The teacher is married and has seven children. He speaks Swahili and French.
The hitherto district rector Muamba Ben Sabue was ordained as an Apostle for the Mwene-Ditu Apostle area. He was born in 1987, is married, and has three children. He worked as a manager in public administration. In 2011 he was entrusted with the Deacon ministry, and since then he has served in various other ministries in the New Apostolic Church.
Cibwayi Michel Sebwila is now the Apostle responsible for Lubumbashi South. Born in 1973, he became a Sub-deacon in 1993. He has served as a District Evangelist since 2014, is married and has eight children. He earned his living as a manager at a mining company. In addition to his native Tshiluba, he speaks French and English.
Bishop Badibanga Samuel Tshinsambi was ordained an Apostle for Tshikapa. He was born in 1969. He is married and has seven children. He has been a minister since 1995 and has served as a Bishop since 2002, when he entered into the full-time service of the Church. He speaks Tshiluba and French.
