- Tribute to Apostle Nyamai
The members of the New Apostolic Church in Kenya are mourning the death of Apostle Jacob Mulwa Nyamai. The Apostle passed away aged 60 last week after a short and severe illness.
Jacob Mulwa Nyamai was born into a Christian family on 4 March 1964. He became acquainted with the New Apostolic Church in 1988 and was sealed in 1989. He was ordained a Priest in 1992. Further ministerial functions followed until he was ordained an Apostle in 2012.
“He will be greatly missed,” District Apostle Joseph Opemba Ekhuya says. He emphasised the Apostle’s great contribution to the growth of the congregations under his care, to the inclusion and involvement of women, and to advancing the development of music in his working area.
Apostle Nyamai passed away on the night of Wednesday, 9 October 2024. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 26 October 2024, in his hometown of Zombe in Kitui County.
The deceased is survived by his wife and four children. In his circular, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider wishes the family and all those mourning the Apostle’s death: “May our heavenly Father give them much comfort, strength, and confidence in these difficult hours of parting.”
