- New Apostles: growth in numbers
A total of six new Apostles were ordained in November and December 2024 in Africa and India.
The retirement of two Apostles in northern India, where District Apostle Mark Woll is responsible, left a gap which Singh Ganpat filled. He was born in 1988 and has been a minister in the New Apostolic Church since 2003. He has been serving as a Priest since 2004 and was ordained an Apostle during a divine service in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in November 2024. He speaks Hindi and English, is married, and has two children.
Ordinations in Accra in Ghana
At the end of the International District Apostle Meeting in Ghana, the Chief Apostle conducted a divine service in Accra on 24 November 2024. He ordained three new Apostles for the working area of District Apostle Michael Ehrich: Apostle Jacques Tolno for Guinea, Apostle Patrick Konadu Yiadom for Ghana, and Apostle Francois Esse Yovo for Togo.
Jacques Tolno was born on 5 January 1989 in Guéckédou in Guinea. He became New Apostolic in 2001. In 2004 he received his first ministry in the New Apostolic Church in N’Zerekore. He had been assigned as a district rector only recently. An accountant by profession, he is married and has one child. In addition to his mother tongue Kissi, he speaks French and English.
Patrick Konadu Yiadom, a teacher by profession, was born on 13 September 1971 in Ahafo-Mim in Ghana. It was here that he came into contact with the New Apostolic faith 19 years later. In 1993 then, he was ordained a Deacon in the New Apostolic Church in Ntotroso. Most recently, he was active as a district rector. He is married with one child and speaks Akan and English.
Francois Esse Yovo was born on 29 January 1976 in Klotchomé in Togo. He has been a member of the New Apostolic Church since 1988 and a minister since 1995. He received his last ministerial mandate as a District Elder from District Apostle Saur in 2006. He is a registered nurse and now serves his brothers and sisters as an Apostle. He is supported by his wife and six children. He speaks Aja, French, English, and Fon.
Ordinations in Cape Town, South Africa
On 8 December 2024, the Chief Apostle conducted a divine service in the Retreat-East congregation in South Africa, where he ordained Domingos Fernando and Dias Paulo Tesoura as Apostles for Mozambique, for which District Apostle Peter Lambert carries pastoral responsibility.
The former was born on 11 August 1984 in Mpura in Mozambique and joined the New Apostolic Church in 2007. He and his wife have three children, and he earns his living as a farmer. He has been a minister of the New Apostolic Church since 2008. Most recently, he served as a District Evangelist. His mother tongue is Chichewa, but he also speaks Portuguese.
Dias Paulo Tesoura was born in Mocuba in Mozambique on 22 June 1985. He embraced the New Apostolic faith in 1991. He has served the New Apostolic Church as a minister since 2009, most recently as a district rector. He is a lecturer, is married, and has four children. He speaks four languages: Portuguese, Makhuwa, Lomwe, and English.
