- Apostle Zulu dies in an accident
There is shock and sadness among the members of the Church in Zambia: Apostle Robert Rabson Zulu died in a car accident this past Monday.
“His commitment was extraordinary, his willingness to help remarkable.” This is how District Apostle Kububa Soko described the Apostle. Apostle Zulu was extremely hard working and deeply spiritual, but always humble and down to earth.
“He will be missed greatly,” it says in Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider’s circular addressed to the Apostles. “We gladly intercede for his wife and his children, as well as for all relatives and those who are suffering.”
Robert Rabson Zulu was born in Kitwe in Zambia in 1967. He was baptised and sealed at the beginning of 1974. He was ordained as a Priest, his first ministry, in 2010. And after further mandates he was called and ordained as an Apostle in June 2022. He had been looking after 270 congregations with some 40,000 members. Most recently, Apostle Zulu was appointed as a member of the project group working on the update of the Catechism.
The funeral service will be conducted this Friday, 7 March. The funeral service was initially scheduled in his home congregation, but it was moved to the central church in Lusaka due to the huge outpouring of sympathy and the large number of worshippers expected.
