- Succession plan in place for South America
Apostle Herman Ernst is to familiarise himself with the district and prepare for his future task. This is what Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider said last weekend when he assigned the Apostle as District Apostle Helper for South America.
“The purpose of today’s act is to give you time and the opportunity” to familiarise yourself with the tasks of a District Apostle, the Chief Apostle explained on Sunday, 30 March 2025, in Buenos Aires (Argentina). That includes becoming familiar with the entire District Apostle Area, which includes Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
“Indeed, many countries and so many different people. But they all want to love Jesus. And Jesus loves them all,” the Chief Apostle said. It is therefore important that you learn to love and understand them all, he went on. “You cannot imagine how thankful we are to have you. And we are glad and happy to work with you.”
The new District Apostle Helper was born on 16 March 1966 in Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay and grew up in a New Apostolic home. He was ordained as a Sub-deacon in 1985, his first ministry. He was ordained an Apostle in 2011 and has been responsible for the New Apostolic Christians in Uruguay since then. He is married and has one daughter.
