- Chief Apostle congratulates Pope Leo XIV
Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider, the president of the New Apostolic Church International, has reacted to the appointment of Pope Leo XIV and conveyed heartfelt greetings.
In his message, the leader of the New Apostolic Church wishes the new head of the Roman Catholic Church strength and wisdom, as well as God’s blessing for his very demanding service. “In a time marked by upheaval and challenges, there is a need for spiritual leadership that conveys the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ: hope, love for one’s neighbour, and reconciliation.”
The Chief Apostle emphasises the Pope’s special responsibility as a servant of all Catholic Christians. He wishes him the nearness of God and His support in His daily ministry—“for the comfort and encouragement of all those who listen to your voice”.
With this greeting, Schneider is following in the tradition of his predecessors. Ever since Chief Apostle Richard Fehr, the leaders of the New Apostolic Church International have accompanied the changes in the pontificate of the Catholic Church with sympathy and good wishes.
