- Chief Apostle assigns a successor
The New Apostolic Church has received a Chief Apostle Helper. With the appointment of Helge Mutschler on 8 June 2025, the future leadership of the Church has also been revealed.
Helge Mutschler was born in Tübingen, Germany on 8 August 1974. He received his first ministry as a Sub-deacon in the year 1994. After he had served in various other ministries, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider ordained him an Apostle on 15 November 2015 and entrusted him with the task of District Apostle Helper for North-Eastern Germany in 2021.
Helge Mutschler holds a doctorate in law and worked as Managing Director of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Tax Consultants before entering into the full-time service of the Church. He is married and has two children.
Today, on Pentecost 2025 he was assigned a Chief Apostle Helper.
With this act, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider has also responded to the question of his successorship. In the space of a year, namely on Pentecost 2026, he will ordain Helge Mutschler as Chief Apostle in South Africa and retire after having served in this office for 13 years.
