- Three new Apostles ordained in Australia
During this year’s divine service on Easter Sunday, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider ordained three new Apostles for the working area of District Apostle Peter Schulte in the Western Pacific.
None of the three men standing in front of the altar in Melbourne, Australia were born in Australia. Two native South Africans and one Papua New Guinean received the Apostle ministry at the hands of Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider during the Easter service on 20 April 2025.
Eugene Volkwyn was born, baptised, and sealed in Cape Town, South Africa in 1972. It was also there that he was ordained to his first ministry as a Deacon in the year 1990. In 2006 he was ordained a Priest by District Apostle Andersen in Hamilton, New Zealand. In 2008 he became an Evangelist, and was ordained a District Evangelist in 2016. Most recently he worked in the head office of the New Apostolic Church Western Pacific. He is married and has two children. He speaks English and Afrikaans, lives in Werribee, Australia, and will also serve as an Apostle in this country, which is in the care of District Apostle Peter Schulte.
Like his retiring predecessor, Apostle Trevor Williams, Shaun van Wyngaard is a native of Cape Town, South Africa. He was born in 1970. He has served in the New Apostolic Church since 1991, has worked as a Priest in New Zealand since 1998, and was most recently ordained a District Evangelist by Apostle Trevor Williams in December 2006. He works as a Health and Safety Officer. He is married and the father of one child. The Apostle, whose assigned working area is New Zealand, lives in Somerville. He speaks English and Afrikaans.
For Papua New Guinea, the Chief Apostle ordained the hitherto Priest John Kundi as an Apostle. He was born in 1972 in Maral Village, Papua New Guinea, and became New Apostolic in the year 2000. He now lives in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. He received his first ministry in the New Apostolic Church in Rainbow in 2016. He now works for the Church in a professional capacity. He speaks Imbongu and English, is married, and has three daughters and two sons. John Kundi is now responsible for part of the working area of Apostle Papi Allen Pouru, who retired last year.
