- New Church leaders in the north
The District Apostle Areas of Canada and Northern and Eastern Germany have new leaders. Between them, the two District Apostle Areas look after believers in more than 30 countries on four continents.
“God will provide all that the souls need.” With these words, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider appointed Arnaud Martig, who had previously served as District Apostle Helper, as District Apostle for the working area of Canada in October. “That’s mission number one: prepare the souls for the imminent return of Jesus Christ. Mission number two: and prepare the Church for the next decades.”
Apostle Martig succeeds Mark Woll, who served as District Apostle for the past fifteen years. “You have really done a good job as District Apostle. You have been a wise and good leader,” the Chief Apostle said as he thanked the retiring District Apostle Woll.
“Your service was characterised by deep faith and true love.” With these words, the Chief Apostle paid tribute to the retiring District Apostle Rüdiger Krause of Northern and Eastern Germany in December.
Apostle David Heynes has now taken over this function. “What do the believers need in the future?” Chief Apostle Schneider asked during the appointment and provided the answer himself, “They will need spiritual stability. The brothers and sisters need love. And then it needs competent leadership.” Demanding indeed, but the Chief Apostle said, “You have an excellent team. And you don’t have to do everything yourself.”
