Food for thought March 2026

Prayer is an important part of our life of faith, and it is important that we persevere in prayer.

Of course, one could say, “God does not answer all our prayers. We have been praying for a long time for Him to grant peace and security in some countries. God does not answer these prayers. There is still violence, there are problems, and suffering.” I have no explanation for this. God does not tell us why He does not answer all our prayers.

It is the same in our personal lives. We all go through times when we do not understand what God is doing. And like Job, we search for an explanation and find none. The only thing I can tell you, and I am absolutely convinced of this, is that in the end, Jesus Christ always wins.

For years, I have been telling the children, in fact all of God’s children, that you will say to me, “But look, Jesus did not win here.” If Jesus did not win, all it means is that the story is not over yet.  Jesus is still active and going about His work. This is not just a story for small children but is a summary of God’s work and activity for the whole world.

We cannot understand everything that God is doing today. But we have the assurance that Jesus will prevail. It is important that we remain with Him until the end of the story. For then we will win with Him and thanks to Him.
