- South America under new leadership
The New Apostolic Church South America has a new District Apostle: Edwin Herman Ernst Guigou has been appointed as Enrique Eduardo Minio’s successor.
“You are a man with a big heart.” That is what Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider said about Enrique Minio during the divine service on 29 March 2026 in Buenos Aires in Argentina. “Because of your humility, God was able to do great things through you.” And: “You are a man of wisdom. You always established the right priorities in the right moment.”
After some 40 years in ministry, including twelve as an Apostle and ten as a District Apostle, the Chief Apostle has now retired him upon reaching the age limit. “The whole congregation thanks you and your wife and your family.”
The leader of the New Apostolic Church International appointed District Apostle Helper Herman Ernst as the new District Apostle. “Make sure the Church remains the Church— that is, the place where Jesus Christ can dispense salvation,” emphasised Chief Apostle Schneider.
District Apostle Ernst is 60 years old and has also served as a minister for over 40 years. He was ordained as an Apostle in 2011 and was assigned as a District Apostle Helper in 2025. His area of responsibility covers Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
