Zurich. District Apostle Arthur Rosentreter, retired since 2001, passed away last Friday at the age of 79. The funeral will take place on Wednesday in Queensland, Australia. Arthur Rosentreter was ordained District Apostle for Australia on 9 June 1985 by Chief Apostle Hans Urwyler.
“We will remember him in our hearts as a believing and wise servant of God,” writes Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber to the bereaved family, “On the other hand we are also thankful that he has been released from his suffering.”
Arthur Rosentreter was born on 6 August 1933 in Toogoolawah, Queensland. He already received his first ministerial commission as a Sub-deacon at the age of 16. Other ministries followed. In 1975, Chief Apostle Streckeisen ordained him to the Bishop ministry. During his 50 years of ministry, 16 years of which he worked as a District Apostle, Arthur Rosentreter served the Lord with much love, great zeal, and complete devotion. In addition to his work in Australia and New Zealand, he was also responsible for the New Apostolic Church in the countries of Fiji, Kiribati, Papua-New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and parts of India.
