- Apostle Bernhard Meier set to retire
Biel. In a divine service scheduled for 21 December 2008, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, international leader of the NewApostolic Church, will discharge Apostle Bernhard Meier from Geneva into a well-deserved retirement. District Apostle Markus Fehlbaum, who is now responsible for the New Apostolic Church in Switzerland, has announced Apostle Meier’s successor.
The current Bishop Philipp Burren will be ordained an Apostle. He will take over the entire working area of his predecessor. A new Bishop, namely District Evangelist Jürgen Müller from Vienna, will also be ordained for the District Church of Austria. His working areas will include the church district of Graz (Austria) as well as the countries of Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia.
