- New district apostle for Northern Germany to be ordained in Bremen
Bremen. In a divine service on 27 November 2005, which Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber plans to conduct in the Bremen Congress Centre, Karlheinz Schumacher will be ordained the new district apostle for the District Church of Northern Germany. At the same time, Bishop Ekhard Möller will be retired.
The ordination of Apostle Karlheinz Schumacher as the new district apostle for the District Church of Northern Germany was already to have taken place in the divine service in Pasewalk on 10 July 2005 (we reported). Unfortunately however, the apostle had to announce he would be unable to participate in that divine service on account of an acute illness, from which he has recovered in the meantime.
Also during this divine service in Bremen, Bishop Ekhard Möller (65) will begin his well deserved retirement after having reached the age limit for active ministers. He has been active as a minister of the New Apostolic Church for 42 years, the last eleven of which he served as a bishop.
The divine service in Bremen will be transmitted by satellite throughout the District Church of Northern Germany, as well as the congregations in Scandinavia and Finland, which are served by the District Church of Northern Germany. District Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider (France), Apostle Hans-Peter Schneider (Heilbronn), and Apostle Semion Cazacu (Moldavia) have also been invited to this special event.
