Core duties:
|
Congregational rectors are responsible for the congregation in both a spiritual and organisational respect.
- They are responsible for the pastoral care of the ministers and their families
- They conduct meetings of ministers and functionaries on a congregational level
- They support the ministers and functionaries in the performance of their duties
- They perform special pastoral care duties in the congregation
- They prepare believers for Holy Baptism with water and for acts of blessing
- They prepare believers for Holy Sealing on behalf of the district rector
- They preside over the adoption of guests on behalf of the district rector
- They ensure compliance with Church regulations
- They guarantee the required flow of information
- They are responsible to the district rector and the Apostle for the congregation in an administrative capacity
- They promote the development of the competencies of the ministers and functionaries
- They explore the need for additional ministers and functionaries, and make corresponding proposals to the district rector
- They promote the involvement and participation of all members of the congregation in congregational life in line with the Vision and Mission of the Church

Personal prerequisites:

- They bear the Priest ministry[89]
- Acceptance among the ministers
- Sufficient free time for pastoral care and management of the congregation
- Ability to handle pressure
