How to pray

Jesus promised, if you gather in My name and ask in My name, you will receive it. Every time we gather to pray in the name of Jesus, He is there with us and prays with us.

When we gather in the name of Jesus and ask God for that which Jesus pleads for on our behalf, Jesus prays with us. But we must ask for the same thing He does. Whoever prays, “God, I want to be very, very rich,” cannot expect Jesus to pray with Him. Because Jesus said something completely different about money and the rich. And if we pray, “Jesus, you must punish my enemy,” we cannot expect Jesus to pray that with us because He will not agree. Such prayers are not answered because they are not in agreement with Jesus’ prayer.

What does Jesus pray for on our behalf? In John 17: 24 we can read, “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am.” If we want our prayers to be answered, we must strive to ask God for that which Jesus asks His Father for us.
